Drive Medical
Full-Electric Bariatric Bed, 42" Model 15300
Drive’s Full-Electric Bariatric Bed is a 42-inch-wide, all-steel heavy-duty frame. Drive rates it at 600 lb total weight capacity with a maximum patient weight of 500 lb, which leaves room within the total for the mattress, rails and bedding. Overall the unit measures 42 inches wide by 88 inches long, around an 80-inch sleeping surface.
It is a practical bed to bring into a house. The split-pan deck separates, the bed ends come off, and Drive says setup needs no tools. Bed height runs from 18.25 to 26.25 inches (about 46 to 67 cm), a range that suits a person who sits on the edge before standing and a caregiver who wants the bed higher for care. A hand control moves the bed through its positions, and Drive includes an emergency manual crank for power outages.
Drive sells T-style half rails separately and offers a low-air-loss or alternating pressure mattress for this frame. Drive has since released a lightweight bariatric bed with a similar model number and different ratings, so we read the label on the actual unit and confirm its figures with you before delivery.
