Golden Technologies
Comforter with MaxiComfort Model PR-535
Golden builds this chair around two Comfort Zones that adjust independently from its AutoDrive hand control. In daily use that means the back and the leg rest are separate decisions: the back can stay fairly upright for a meal while the legs are raised, or lean back without the leg rest swinging out. The seat is a chaise design, so the cushioning continues from the seat onto the leg rest instead of leaving a gap under the calves.
The four standard sizes use a pocketed coil seat and cover a wide range of bodies. Petite/Small and Medium share a 21-inch seat width and a seat top 20 inches from the floor, which lets a shorter adult put both feet flat before the lift starts. Tall raises the seat to 23 inches, the highest of any chair we rent, which can help a tall person or anyone who rises more easily from a higher seat. Every size has a battery backup.
One correction to what some retailers print: Golden’s own sell sheet shows no zero-gravity option on this model. If a zero-gravity position is on your list, ask about the Pride Radiance instead. The Medium/Wide and Large/Wide versions of this chair carry higher weight ratings and are covered on our bariatric lift chair page.
